We receive frequent inquiries from physicians who initially didn't use our services, instead choosing a “quickie” review by an inexperienced advisor or negotiating themselves.  If they had come to us first, we could have helped them avoid heartache, and our fee would have been a tiny fraction of the often hundreds of thousands of dollars of losses or opportunities they missed, caused at their own hands.

The point is that those who seek to do it for less, whether by themselves or with those who don’t have our experience, get exactly that — less, far less.  Your search, contract, and buy-in seriously are almost always the largest professional and financial decision you will ever make.  And we can provide the full services you need to decide wisely.

"The Issue Spotter” Package

Our foundation package, requiring approximately five hours of our careful, experienced analysis and advice.  Includes a thorough description of where large profits and large losses may lie in your own personal contract.  An overwhelming value, how would you possibly educate yourself about the many opportunities and risks that are hidden there?  You will be working with an experienced, licensed attorney (Brad C. Jones, Esq.) hired in his separate MedAccord capacity of your business advisor and issue spotter. 

Fee: $1000, prepaid.

“The Job Seeker” Package

A terrific add-on, requiring approximately five hours of our career consulting time.  This package gives you employment bargaining position and fallbacks by helping you find multiple opportunities.  We will analyze/re-write your CV, coach you on search and interviewing strategy, and help you find ten advertised or unadvertised positions.  As you probably know, most of the best positions are not advertised.

Fee: $1,000 prepaid.

“The Benefiter” Package

Another important add-on, analyzing the benefits that may comprise 25% or more of your compensation.  This requires approximately five hours of our business consulting time.  We will analyze your retirement, deferred compensation, and life/disability/medical/dental insurance policies (including the premium rates for employees, amount of employer contributions, vesting schedules, searching for gaps, and how different employees are treated with respect to these).

Fee: $1,000 by promissory note, not due until six months after you begin work.

“The Associate” Package

A premium add-on package for those who understand the overwhelming importance of their employment contract.  Acting as your business advisor and now also as your attorney, we conduct background checks and negotiate as appropriate your salary, bonus, liability policy, tail, call, perks, benefits, termination issues, non-competition, dispute resolution, office details, early termination penalties, relocation expenses, signing bonus, and more.  This requires approximately fifteen hours of our time in intense attorney and consulting work with quick turnarounds.   

Fee: $3,000 by promissory note, not due until six months after you begin work.

“The Owner” Package

Another premium add-on package for those who understand that real value of employment ultimately is becoming owner/shareholder/partner.  Acting as your business advisor and also as your attorney, we will analyze the owners’ incomes, proformas, financials, overhead, buy-in agreement, negotiating exclusives, and equal participation in all opportunities. This is likely the biggest financial investment of your life, why not know the details?  This requires approximately fifteen hours of our time in intense attorney and consulting work with quick turnarounds. 

Fee: $3,000 by promissory note, not due until six months after you begin work.

“The Guarantor” Package

Things can change after employment starts, such as departing colleagues interrupting call schedules, chaotic practice growth, or a practice financial stumble.  In this package, we remain on call for two years after you are employed with issues that may arise.  Why not have continued peace of mind and protection once you are employed?

Fee: $3000 by promissory note, not due until six months after you begin work.

“The Agent ” (Full Service) Package

A full-service package that includes all of the above.

Fee:  4% of your starting salary if we help with one employer, add 2% for a second employer, add 1% for each additional employer. Thus, this fee is less than a real-estate commission -- for a transaction worth far more to your financial and personal future.  Start with a $1,000 deposit and the rest is not due until six months after you begin work.

With All Packages

Physician employment contracts are our business.  We provide exceptional personal service.  No retainer is required after the basic “Issue Spotter” package, and all reasonable expenses (Fed Ex, postage, phone, fax) are included.  Our fee approximates $200/hour.  For comparison, your own effective hourly rate to patients/insurers, depending on your specialty, ranges $400-$1,000/hour.  You are far better off having our experienced help, avoiding costly mistakes you will inevitably make doing this yourself, and saving your time and energy for what you do best in your practice.
